Matthew Joseph Interview – The Ability Show 25/06/26
How would you deal with the idea you may get dementia young and lose your memory and your ability to hold a conversation? Well, this is what Matthew Joseph is dealing with, while trying to decide whether he wants to get the test and if he really wants to know if he has the gene. Early onset dementia can be hereditary and can affect people as young as in their 20’s. Matthew has seen his beloved mum slowly drift away from the disease, not able to hold a conversation and eventually she passed away from complications associated with dementia. She was diagnosed with the condition in her fifties and passed away at the age of 58 due to losing her ability to swallow. Adrianne chats with Matthew about his family history with early onset dementia, having had 6 members of his family die from it. They also talk about his new single ‘Psychic’ and how he is trying to bring awareness to this terrible condition though his music profile, and the various tv documentaries and interviews such as this one hoping to also raise funds towards research into finding a cure.
