New to RosFM: Reminiscences on the Radio

ROSFM are delighted to announce a major new series ‘Reminiscences on the Radio’ which will start on Monday 26th July at 9am.

This series of programmes was produced and presented by Karen Meenan who is a self-employed entrepreneur with over 30 years’ experience as a retailer, marketing consultant, trainer, coach, dementia-inclusive theatre director, radio presenter and more recently Research Assistant in TCIN/School of Psychology, located at Trinity College Dublin.

Karen’s sister Orla Horn was a founder member of the ‘Forget-Me-Nots’ choir which was made up of several people suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s and which was the subject of an award winning documentary on RTE 1 TV that featured the late Brendan Grace.

‘Reminiscences on the Radio’ talks to dementia sufferers and other guests about their memories of years gone by.   The years in the series are 1950 to 1969 and the programmes include some of the music, news stories and big events from that year and a chat with a number of guests.

There are also two follow -on series that will also be featured on RosFM as Karen explains in her interview which can be heard on Good Morning Roscommon on Wednesday 21st July.

It’s just one of many exciting new programmes that RosFM will be featuring over the coming weeks and months.

‘Reminiscences on the Radio’ can be heard every Monday on RosFM 9am to 10am from Monday 26th July.
