New to RosFM: Reminiscence on the Radio

ROSFM are delighted to announce a major new series ‘Reminiscence on the Radio’ which will start on Monday 26th July at 9am.

This series of programmes was produced and presented by Karen Meenan who is a self-employed entrepreneur with over 30 years’ experience as a retailer, marketing consultant, trainer, coach, dementia-inclusive theatre director, radio presenter and more recently Research Assistant in TCIN/School of Psychology, located at Trinity College Dublin.

Karen is a founder member of the Forget-Me-Nots choir which was formed in 2014 by her sister Órla Horn. The choir is made up of over one hundred people living with dementia, their caregivers and people from the community and was the subject of an award winning documentary on RTE 1 TV that featured the late Brendan Grace.

‘Reminiscence on the Radio’ talks to people living with dementia and other guests about their memories of years gone by. Karen is a volunteer presenter in NearFM which is based in Coolock in Dublin. In this series, the years 1950 to 1969 are featured, these programmes include some of the music, news stories and big events from that year and a chat with a number of guests.

There are also two follow -on series that will also be featured on RosFM as Karen explains in her interview which can be heard on Good Morning Roscommon on Wednesday 21st July.

It’s just one of many exciting new programmes that RosFM will be featuring over the coming weeks and months.

‘Reminiscence on the Radio’ can be heard every Monday on RosFM 9am to 10am from Monday 26th July.
