CRAOL are the umbrellaorganisation for community radio stations throughout the country.. Every years they have an awards ceremony to celebrate the work being done by stations. Mary Lennon is the CRAOL coordinatorand she has been explaining what CRAOL do.

The Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland is holding a major fund-raiser later in September to raise funds for their services dealing with the 64,000 people who suffer from the condition. Hugh O’Donoghue is a spokesman for the Society and he told Seamus Duke about what’s planned.

Peoplewho work in the community and voluntarysector and who are mainly involved in the caring professions are not being paid properly by the Government and a rally of workers will take place in Galway on Saturday organised by the union FORSA. Spokesman for FORSA Niall Shannon has been telling Seamus Duke about the rally.

There has been shock and anger in the Ballintubber area of county Roscommon at the attack on a 90 year old woman earlier this week when she and her two sons were the subject of a burglarycarried out by a number of men. Seamus Duke spoke to local Councillor Tony Waldron about the incident.
