  • The Irish Blood Transfusion Service are holding a clinic in the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon on Wednesday, September 3rd and Thursday, September 4th from 5pm to 8.30pm.
  • A clothes collection will take place beside Strokestown Church on Thursday, September 4th before 12 noon.
  • The New Begginnings Club will be holding a vintage tea party in The Windmill, Elphin on Thursday, September 4th from 10am until 12 noon. All welcome. For more information call 086 036 7524.
  • The September meeting of the Boyle ex-Servicemen and Women’s Association takes place in Paddy Daly’s Lounge, Boyle on Thursday, September 4th at 8pm.
  • A meeting for stewards of the 2014 Internationcal Sheepdog Trials will be held in Kilbegnet Hall, Creggs on Thursday, September 4th at 9pm. All welcome.
  • Judging in the Pride of Place Competition will be held in the Percy French Hotel, Strokestown on Friday, September 5th from 10am to 12.30pm. For more information call SCDA on 071 9633 759.
  • The AGM of the Mid-Roscommon Co-Op Society will take place in Kilbride Community Building at 8pm sharp on Friday, September 5th.
  • Roscommon HAC will be holding church gate collections around the county on Saturday, September 6th and Sunday, September 7th.
  • Roscommon SPCA will be holding a church gate collection at Arigna Church on Saturday, September 6th and Sunday, September 7th.
  • The Mountbellew Agricultural Show will take place on Saturday, September 6th.
  • The Tour of Mayo Charity Cycle in aid of Western Care will take place at Hotel Ballina, Foxford Road, Ballina on Saturday, September 6th. Entry via sponsorship card or fee of €30. Register online at www.iregister.ie/tourofmayo
  • Ballaghaderreen Boxing Club registration takes place in Ballaghaderreen Business Park, Number 16 on Saturday, September 6th at 12 noon. The club is open to girls and boys aged 9 years and up.
  • The 2nd annual Boyle Celtic to Croagh Patrick Challenge takes place on Saturday, September 6th. For more information, contact Eddie Conroy at The Railway Bar. Sponsorship cards available.
  • The Culfadda Fun Walk, in aid of North West Hospice takes place on Sunday, September 7th at 1pm. Registration at 1.30pm. Sponsorship cards available. For more information call 085 174 2061.
  • The annual Frenchpark 10k/5k run/walk or cycle takes place starting at Frenchpark School on Sunday, September 7th at 3pm. All proceeds in aid of Action Breast Cancer & Prostate Cancer. Registration €10 per adults. Refreshments at the school afterwards.
  • St. Croan’s Ladies GAA Club are holding a sponsored walk on Sunday, September 7th in aid of the under age teams. Sponsorship cards available now.
  • Frenchpark Ladies Group & The Men’s Shed are hosting an Irish Tea Party in Frenchpark Parochial Hall on Sunday, September 7th from 6pm to 9pm. All welcome.
  • The 2014 International Sheepdog Trials take place in Kilbegnet, Creggs from Friday, September 12th until Sunday, September 14th. For more in formation contact the event secretary on 087 611 6376.
  • The Strokestown Show will take place in Strokestown Park House Grounds on Saturday, September 13th and Sunday, September 14th.
