Roscommon Community Diary July 23 – August 4, 2014

Community Diary
  • The next meeting of Gorthaganny Community Development will take place in the Marian Hall on Wednesday, July 23rd at 9pm. All members are asked to attend with new members welcome.
  • St. Francis ADS, Kilkerrin are having a coffee morning and cake sale in aid of the centre on Thursday, July 24th from 11am to 1pm.
  • The Brideswell Pattern Festival takes place from Thursday, July 24th until Monday July 28th.
  • A traditional music session will take place in Hamrock’s, Athleague on Friday night, July 25th at 10pm. All musicians, singers and storytellers welcome. Raffle on the night.
  • Ballinagare/Frenchpark Gun Club will hold a meeting in Frenchpark Parochial Hall on Friday, July 25th at 10pm. Club insurance fees now due. All members are asked to attend.
  • The Boyle Arts Festival takes place from Friday, July 25th until Saturday, August 2nd. Call to the Boyle Arts Festival offices, Bridge Street for tickets on all events.
  • The annual church gate collection in aid of Mayo/Roscommon Hospice will be taken up at local churches on Saturday, July 26th and Sunday, July 27th.
  • The Lough Arrow Eight Mile will take place on Saturday, July 26th starting from Ballinafad at 4pm for walkers and 5pm for runners. Entry €15. Proceeds towards Aughanagh Parish Development Fund. For more information go to runireland.com
  • A fund-raising Boston Tea Party in aid of North West Hospice and Marie Curie Cancer Care will take place in Gurteen Hall on Saturday, July 26th at 8.30pm. Admission €10. All welcome.
  • The Mick Murray Cycle for Roscommon/Mayo Hospice takes place in Kilbride on Sunday, July 27th. All welcome. For more information call Aidan on 086 409 0727.
  • Frenchpark Horse and Pony Club will hold their annual horse races in Cregg’s Field, Frenchpark on Sunday, July 27th at 2pm. For more information call Darragh on 086 871 3864.
  • A meeting of The Roscommon/Leitrim/Sligo land league will take place in Hannon’s Hotel, Roscommon on Monday, July 28th at 8.30pm. For more information call 086 267 3506.
  • A walk or run to raise funds for Keadue Tidy Towns will take place on Friday, August 1st with registration in Keadue hall at 6.30pm.
  • The Moylurg Music Festival will take place from Friday, August 1st until Sunday, August 3rd.
  • Kilbride GAA presents a Las Vegas Casino night in the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon on Sunday, August 3rd from 9.30pm. Admission €10. Tickets available at the hotel, club officials or by calling 087 916 2162.
  • The 6th annual St. Brendan’s Ladies LGFC 5k and 10k fun walk or run will take place in Ballygar on Sunday, August 3rd. Registration from 9.30am at Colaiste Mhuire. All welcome. For more information call Ann on 086 603 7668.

  • Loughglynn Music Festival takes place from Friday, August 1st until Monday, August 4th.
  • A car boot sale in aid of Mayo/Roscommon Hospice Palliative Care Service will take place in The Hub, Castlerea on Sunday, August 3rd from 8am to 2pm. Cars €10 and vans €20.
