  • A ‘Town Revitalisation’ meeting will take place in Gleeson’s, Roscommon, on Wednesday, November 12th at 6.30pm. For more information call the Community and Enterprise section of Roscommon County Council on 090 663 7325.
  • A Birdwatch talk will be held in Hannon’s Hotel, Roscommon on Thursday, November 13th at 8pm. All welcome.
  • A blood donor clinic takes place in Connacht GAA Centre, Ballyhaunis on Thursday, November 13th from 5pm to 8.30pm.
  • A meeting of the Castleplunkett/Kilmurray Community Alert group will take place in Kilmurray Hall on Thursday, November 13th at 8.30pm. All residents are invited to attend.
  • The Roscommon branch of Western Alzheimers is hosting its annual coffee morning in Roscommon Golf Club on Friday, November 14th at 10am.
  • Roosky Heritage Festival are holding a variety concert in Roosky Centre on Friday, November 14th. at 8pm. Admission €10 for adults and €5 for children. Spot prizes on the night.
  • A Showband Nostalgia Night will be held in Smokey Joes, Ballintubber on Friday, November 14th. Admission €10. Refreshments served. All proceeds go to St. Bride’s Church Roofing Fund.
  • The Community Games is holding its end of year presentation in Durkins, Ballaghaderreen on Friday, November 14th at 7pm. All children, parents and guardians in the area are invited to attend.
  • A night to mark the successful hosting of the International Sheepdog Trials and to thank the local community and volunteers will be held in The Glencastle Lounge, Glinsk on Saturday, November 15th. Admission free.
  • A Christmas lights table quiz night will take place in Teach Murray, Gurteen on Saturday, November 15th at 9pm. €40 per table.
  • The annual Mass for deceased members of the former 19th Infantry Battalion FCA will be celebrated in St. Nathy’s Cathedral, Ballaghaderreen on Sunday, November 16th at 12 noon. All former members and friends are invited to attend.
  • A Christmas Craft Fair will take place in the DALE Centre, Derrane on Sunday, November 16th from 12 noon to 5pm. Tables €15. Proceeds in aid of Co. Roscommon Disability Support Group. For more information call Mary on 090 662 5852.

  • Strokestown Park House, in association with the Centre for the Study of Historic Irish Houses and Estates, NUI Maynooth will host a series of public lectures. The first lecture about the Great Famine and its effects on County Roscommon, will take place on Wednesday, November 19th at 8pm.
  • The AGM of Ardcarne Community Games will take place in St. Micahel’s GAA rooms, Cootehall on Wednesday, November 19th at 9pm.
  • The Parents Association is organising an American Tea Party as a fundraising event in support of Scoil Mhuire Lourdes, Loughglynn National School will take place in the Community Centre, Loughlynn on Friday, November 21st at 8.30pm.   • A massive auction in aid of Strokestown playground project, will take place in the Percy French Hotel on Sunday, November 23rd from 12 noon to 6pm.
