  • St. Attracta’s National School Ballaghaderreen Christmas disco will be held at the Phoenix Centre on Thursday, December 18th from 6 to 8pm. All primary children from the area welcome. Admission €4.
  • The Drumboylan School Nativity Play will take place in Drumboylan Church on Thursday, December 18th at 7pm.
  • Castlerea Comhaltas will have a session in McGourty’s on Thursday, December 18th from 9.30pm. All welcome.
  • Glenamaddy Community School students present a carol service in the church on Friday, December 19th at 2pm. All welcome.
  • The Trinity Arts Centre, Castlerea will officially be opened on Friday, December 19th at 3.30pm. The Gala opening night concert will take place at 8pm. Tickets €15. For more information call 087 102 1374.
  • The AGM of Glenamaddy GAA Club will be held in the club meeting room on Friday, December 19th at 8.30pm.
  • The Athleague branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann is holding its Christmas Party session in Hamrock’s, Athleague on Friday, December 19th starting at 10pm. All musicians, singers, story tellers and dancers welcome.
  • The Epilepsy Ireland annual church gate collection will be held on Saturday, December 20th and Sunday, December 21st.
  • The Lisheen National School annual dance will take place in Divilly’s Lounge on Saturday, December 20th. Raffle on the night. Tickets €5 available at the door.
  • A Cootehall Christmas Clean-Up will take place on Saturday, December 20th at 10.30am. Refreshments afterwards. All welcome.
  • A Moving Crib will be on display with live animals and choir in the Square, Roscommon Town on Saturday, December 20th from 2 to 6pm. All welcome.
  • A Christmas Raffle is taking place in Teach Murray, Gurteen on Saturday, December 20th at 9pm sharp. Tickets €2 each or 3 for €5 available in local shops and from members of the Tidy Town Committee.
  • A Republican Prisoner dependant fundraiser will be held in Bothar Rua, Elphin on Saturday, December 20th at 10pm. Admission optional.
  • A meeting of Glinsk Pioneer Association will take place on Sunday, December 21st after 10am Mass. All members are asked to attend with young pioneers welcome.
  • Glinsk ladies football team will hold its Christmas cake sale in the Glencastle Lounge on Sunday, December 21st after Mass until 12.30pm.
  • The Irish Blood Transfusion Service is holding a blood donor clinic at the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon on Sunday, December 21st from 12 noon to 3.30pm and on Monday, December 22nd and Tuesday, December 23rd from 4.30pm to 8pm.
  • Sean Nos ar an tSionann will host its Christmas Show in St. Mary’s Hall, Carrick-on-Shannon on Sunday, December 21st at 3pm. All proceeds in aid of Vesnova Children’s Mental Institution in Chernobyl.
  • A Carol Service will take place in St. Paul’s Church, Kilmurray on Sunday, December 21st at 6pm. All welcome.
  • The children of Tulsk will hold their annual Carol Service in Tulsk Parish Church on Sunday, December 21st at 7pm.
  • Roscommon Solstice Choir Concert will perform in Annaghduff Church, County Leitrim on Sunday, December 21st at 7.30pm. All donations on the night to Annaghduff Church Restoration Fund.
  • The 14th annual Lough Arrow Christmas Day Swim in aid of North West Hospice will take place at Brick Pier, Lough Arrow at 1pm sharp with registration from 12.30pm. All welcome. DJ and drinks provided.
  • The Loughglynn/Lisacul Rural Men’s Group has organised a walk on St. Stephen’s Day starting from Loughglynn Community Centre at 1.30pm. All welcome.
  • The annual St. Stephen’s Day Charity Treasure Hunt in aid of Hospice will take place in Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle at 2.30pm followed by a fun auction and raffle at Clarke’s Bar. All welcome.
  • The Elphin Comhaltas junior session will now take place in The Tower Bar, Elphin on Sunday, December 28th from 3 to 5pm.
